Does hypnotherapy work?

Hypnosis is a safe and very effective form of therapy that works for many people. It cannot make you do anything that you do not want to do. Hypnotherapy will not work if you do not want it to. Contuary to what TV shows would have you believe - it cannot make you do act like a chicken, unless however, that is what you want!!

What is hypnotherapy and what does it feel like to be hypnosis?

Hypnotherapy takes a holistic approach and uses a variety of methods and techniques in which the client enters a state of hypnosis. Hypnosis is a state of mind that we experience many times a day - before falling asleep or when you are lost in a thought. It is a relaxed state of mind, similar to mediation.  It is within this state that positive and beneficial suggestions can be given to the unconscious mind where it is excepted and implemented. You will be awake and alert throughout the process.

Contraindicators - Where hypnotherapy may not be appropriate for you

Hypnotherapy may not be suitable for everyone. If you have any of the below, an alternative therapy may be more suited to you. If you are unsure, please get in touch where we will be able to advise you further.

  • First trimester of preganacy

  • Psychotic disorder

  • Heart conditions

  • Blood pressure issues

  • Under the influence of drink and/or drugs
